Effective immediately, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms says the city is moving back to Phase II of the Five Phase Reopening. Because of what Bottoms termed an “alarming” increase in COVID-19 cases in Georgia, she moved Atlanta back to Phase I in July.

Georgia Health officials confirmed Thursday the death of a 7-year-old boy in Chatham County due to COVID-19. Currently, the only details being released is that the unnamed boy was African American with no chronic conditions. The young boy is Georgia's youngest death and the first small child.
