Join Us for the Commemoration of the 154th Battle of Kennesaw Mountain

On June 23rd through June 24th, the National Park Service and the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park will commemorate the 154th Anniversary of the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain.

History lies on the 2,965-acre landscape of the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. During the Civil War era, the Union army and the Confederate army fought on the land between June 19, 1864 until July 2, 1864. The historic bloody war helped established what is now known as Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Site on February 18, 1917. 

On Saturday, June 23rd through the 24th, the National Park Service and the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park will commemorate the 154th Anniversary of the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain. Visitors of all walks of life, including military veterans, are invited to help commemorate and pay tribute to the 5,350 soldiers died during the battle. The first part of the weekend event will kick off on Saturday, June 23 beginning at 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. with a series of programs included in the following: 

  • Infantry Demonstration at 9:00 a.m. 
  • Artillery Demonstration at 10:00 a.m. 
  • History Hike to the 24-Gun Battery at 10:00 a.m. 
  • Memorial Field Talk  at 11:00 a.m. 
  • Civil War Music Program at 12:00 p.m. 
  • And More! 

The second part of the anniversary will commence on Sunday, June 24 starting at 10:00 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. Adults and Kids can enjoy other activities, including children games, the “Stump the Fifer” activity, visiting military camps, and additional programs will be implemented to help conclude the ceremony at 3:30 p.m. 

Volunteers are asked to join and participate to help make this weekend event a celebration to remember. Mark this anniversary on your calendar and come celebrate the 154th Anniversary of the Battle of Kennesaw Mountian located at 900 Kennesaw Mountain Dr. Kennesaw, Georgia 30152. Visitors are encouraged to arrive at the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park early to become of all of the festivities.
