A 13-year old girl maintains her story, that family friend and Atlanta minister Don Martin has sexually assaulted her since she was 7 years old. The 45 year old Martin, according to the Fulton County District Attorney's office is a native of the Bahamas. He went missing Tuesday, after leaving the county courthouse in downtown Atlanta, failing to return to hear the verdict and sentencing in the case against him. In his absence, Martin was found guilty of aggravated sexual battery, rape, first-degree child cruelty, and child molestation.

In 2011, Martin had been accused of continuously inappropriately touching the child in Atlanta and College Park. The girl's legal guardian told police that she was friends with Martin and he often slept at their home. But, she said that she was not aware of any sexual abuse.

The case against Martin was briefly closed in 2011, and reopened in 2014 when the guardian reported continued abuse. The girl told investigators that she was molested more than 30 times by Martin from 2005 to 2011, including a rape on her 12th birthday.

Indicted in 2015, Martin was released on $15,000 bond, and was required to wear an ankle monitor. But, last year, a Fulton County Superior Court judge changed the sentencing guidelines allowing removal of the monitor.  He wasn't wearing one when he disappeared this week.

The press release from the D-A's office goes on to say that Martin's sentencing is on hold because the teenage victim indicates she wants to face him during the hearing.
