There are just 100 days to go before the Super Bowl is held in Atlanta.  Super Bowl LIII will be played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium downtown on Sunday, February 3, 2019. A series of concerts titled Super Bowl LIVE will be held during the week leading up to the big game.

Friday morning, the Atlanta Host Committee announced Super Bowl LIVE details, including Verizon as its presenting sponsor and Atlanta-based, GRAMMY Award-Winning Producer Jermaine Dupri as the event’s music producer.

“Super Bowl LIVE presented by Verizon is an opportunity to celebrate and embrace Atlanta’s vibrant culture and renowned music scene,” said Brett Daniels, chief operating officer of the Atlanta Super Bowl Host Committee.

The announcement featured V103-Atlanta on-air personality Greg Street interviewing Dupri about being chosen to produce the events in his hometown. "It means a lot", said Dupri, adding "I want to make sure that people leave town with the right mindset of what Atlanta is all about." Dupri also said, "to have this event come to my hometown and not be a part of it would be crazy."

Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, called it exciting. "This is not just about a few minutes at Halftime, this is about a week-long of festivities that will really be able to showcase the best of Atlanta's talent", said Bottoms.

The Mayor, walking with a crutch following knee surgery, added "I think it is an incredible honor that one of Atlanta's own will be able to showcase Atlanta's own for an entire week.'

Centennial Olympic Park in downtown Atlanta will be the site of the free, large-scale fan festival leading up to Super Bowl LIII. Super Bowl LIVE presented by Verizon will be open to the public beginning Saturday, January 26 through Saturday, February 2nd.

Dupri is currently celebrating his record label, So So Def Records’ 25th anniversary. His involvement in Super Bowl LIVE presented by Verizon will include securing talent and producing the evening concerts across various genres.

As for what the fans can expect, Dupri told Street, "my goal is to try to make sure that all of the talent in the city feel like we are reaching out to them and making sure that they are a part of this because that's important."

Atlanta Host Committee COO Daniels said, “We are thrilled to have the legendary Jermaine Dupri as our music producer for the free event in Centennial Olympic Park. His involvement will curate a special week of musical acts creating lasting memories for Atlanta residents and visiting fans during the days leading up to Super Bowl LIII.”
