As we see a rise of protest movements and rallies surging all over the country, there is no better time to vote then now. In Georgia, the general primary and nonpartisan general election is May 22nd and will include key Republican and Democratic races for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Congress, Secretary of State, the General Assembly and more. If you are not registered to vote, the deadline to register is April 24th, and the process is seamless. In Georgia, you can register online at https://registertovote.sos.ga.gov/GAOLVR/welcome.do#no-back-button, and your registration status can be confirmed by going to the Georgia Secretary of State's "My Voter Page" at https://www.mvp.sos.ga.gov/MVP/mvp.do

Some Local organizations such as the Fayette County Branch of the NAACP are out in the community registering people to vote. Brenda Cox, the Political Chair for the Fayette County Branch of the NAACP and volunteer Marie Sims, sit religiously at their local Kroger every weekend asking customers if they are registered to vote.

If you are not registered, the process is straightforward and takes less than 20 minutes. Brett Trodder, a new resident of the state, took advantage of the quick and easy process and registered on the spot.
