Jean Ross

Jean Ross is the Program Manager of WAOK and Operations Manager and News Director of WAOK and V-103 Radio.

Ms. Ross has been in radio for over 35 years. She worked as News Anchor, News Director, Public Affairs Director, morning show co-host with Frank Ski and host of her own show while in Baltimore, Maryland.  

She was also host and producer of the nationally syndicated program “Focus on Women” airing in 50 U.S. cities and the Caribbean from 1990-1996 and again in 2002-2004.

Ms. Ross also has extensive television experience in Baltimore and worked as a freelance reporter and traffic anchor on WJZ-TV and host of many public affairs and entertainment programs.

She left radio to work as a Media Relations Specialist for the NAACP for President & CEO Kweisi Mfume from 1999 until 2001.

Following the terrorist's attacks on America in September 2001, she decided to relocate to Atlanta looking for a new career challenge and landed at WAOK and V-103 as News Director and Talk Show Host.

Since she has been in Atlanta, Ms. Ross has been a talk show host, news reporter, news anchor, News Director, Public Affairs Director and is now Program Manager of WAOK, a heritage radio station in Atlanta and Operations Manager of WAOK and V-103. She now works closely with the V-103 Program Director and Market Manager to direct the course of programming at the radio stations.

Jean has won many awards including the Crystal Award from NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) and National Public Service Director of the Year from Black Radio Exclusive Magazine.

She is a graduate of Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland and is the mother of three children.
