PRESTIGE OF HBCU FOOTBALL

“It is still a marketable product – a very exciting brand of football with great tradition and great athletes like Walter Payton (Jackson State), Steve McNair (Alcorn State), and Jerry Rice (Mississippi Valley State) just to name a few,” stated Tony Hughes – head coach of Jackson State. “The list goes on but HBCU’s have established a solid tradition.”

…and that is the reason Hughes believes HBCU football is still relevant in society today. More on the importance of HBCU football coming soon on “HBCU Play” which launches in August on WAOK 1380AM.
