George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Yassin Mohamed, and countless others have tragically died this year at the hands of police officers or retired law enforcement officers.

A study conducted by The Stanford Open Policing Project shows that black drivers are being pulled over at a higher rate during the day than at night when officers would have a harder time distinguishing race from a distance. After adjusting for the variation in sunset times across the year, researchers found a 5 to 10 percent drop in the share of stopped drivers after sunset who is black, suggesting black drivers are racially profiled during the day.

So what do you do when you are pulled over by the police, do you know your rights?

Watch as The Davis Bozeman Law in partnership with V103 and 1380WAOK  provides some information to ensure that you “Know Your Rights” if stopped by the police.
