Dr. Rashad Richey honors Dr. Joseph E. Lowery's legacy

Dr. Joseph Echols Lowery, Civil Right's legend and all-around humanitarian, passed away on March 27, 2020 at the age of 98.

Dr. Rashad Richey, who had the great fortune of knowing Dr. Lowery, dedicated his morning show in honor of the "Dean" of the Civil Rights Movement.

Some of the late Dr. Lowery's close friends were guests on The Rashad Richey Morning Show to highlight the Civil Rights leader and what he meant to the community at large.

Environmental Activist, scholar and longtime Civil Rights leader Dr. Gerald Durley spoke about Dr. Lowery's humor. Helen Butler, Executive Director of the Georgia Coalition for the People's Agenda (where Dr. Joseph E. Lowery served as Convener) reminded listeners about Dr. Lowery's common touch for all and mentorship to younger generations.

While on air, Rashad shared his most cherished memories of Dr. Lowery, including how the Civil Rights leader helped him pay for college, changing the trajectory of his life.
