Administrators from multiple Cobb County high schools have handed out punishment to students who participated in the National Student Walkout on March 14th.

Reports indicate that multiple students from Wheeler, Pope, and North Cobb High School received 1-day of in-school-suspension (ISS) for engaging in the protest.

Cobb county officials warned students who participated in the walkout would be disciplined for their actions.

Other districts around metro Atlanta allowed their students to walkout during the 17-minute demonstration to raise awareness on gun reform and commemorate the 17 people killed in the mass shooting at a Florida High school last month.

So far, there has been 17 school shootings in the United States this year.
