Mayor Bottoms Asks for Cabinet Resignations

Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms asked for resignations from her entire cabinet Monday morning, sources say.

Her current cabinet consists of 35 top officials from former Mayor Kasim Reed's administration.

Once Bottoms took office in early January, she informed Reed's regime that she is giving them a 3-month evaluation period as she continued to develop and cultivate relationships with them.

"I don't think it's out of the normal for a current administration to review members from a previous one," said Atlanta City Council President Felicia A. Moore.

Bottoms will determine whose resignations she will accept and whose she will decline later this week.

There is no indication on her decision making thus far, however WAOK reached out to Communications Director Anne Torres for comment and her city issued cell phone was no longer connected.

WAOK will continue to update you on this developing story.
