Atlanta has extended its 9 p.m. curfew another night.

The city announced it was extending the curfew, which is set to run through sunrise Wednesday, to a fourth night via social media Tuesday afternoon.

The curfew was instituted following acts of looting and vandalism that took place over the weekend amid peaceful protests for George Floyd, a Minneapolis man, who died in police custody.

Video of his arrest sparked national outrage as officers are seen pinning him to the ground with one officer kneeling on Floyd’s neck.

Since that footage went viral, protests have taken place nationwide including in Atlanta.

Over the weekend some demonstrators vandalized police cars and the sign at CNN headquarters downtown among other businesses in that area.

Protests have persisted in this city with less reports of those activities.
