“It’s something like Atlantic Station but in Cobb County,” said Adam Zimmerman – VP of marketing for the Atlanta Braves. What is he referring too? He’s talking about the currently under construction SunTrust Park which will soon be the new home of the Braves. This massive piece of land is being transformed into what could potentially be the new hot spot slightly outside the perimeter.

Thursday various media outlets were given a tour of the layout and man is it spectacular. My group had the honor of being accompanied by Chairman and CEO of the Braves Terry McGuirk who served as one of our tour guides. We were taken to several spots around the stadium where other officials/associates affiliated with the development project were waiting to explain some fun facts about the area. The field exuded intimacy with its specific baseball structure. We saw what would soon be the Braves new batting cages, the Xfinity Rooftop Lounge, the Chop House (a restaurant that sits inside the stadium with three tiers and an awesome view of the outfield), and the entire stretch The Battery Atlanta. Keep in mind everything is still under construction so we used our imaginations while viewing renderings of each area.

What can fans expect once this project is completed? Well according to the project manager for Populous – Bradd Crowley, fans can look forward to fun in every corner for all ages. He say’s people will wonder all over the park since history will be depicted in every wall. I believe fans can expect a darn good time with food, drinks, and a beautiful vicinity that’ll blow you away.

Over 1,000 workers report to SunTrust Park every day and more than 1.8 million hours of labor have been recorded. Those numbers are expected to rise starting in June. SunTrust Park is set to open in 2017.
