The Gwinnett County Police Department asks for anyone with information on a suspect who allegedly kidnapped a mother and her baby in a carjacking.

Corporal Collin Flynn with the Gwinnett County Police Department says a man forced the woman into her own car at an Exxon gas station in Lawrenceville around 10 pm two weeks ago. The woman lives in the area and felt that the gas station would be the ideal place to get out, eat her dinner, and not wake up her one-year baby sleeping in the back seat.

The woman was able to grab the baby and jump from the car after the suspect drove off. Both mother and child are okay, and Corporal Flynn says this is the only kidnap case they have in the area and believes it is an isolated incident.

The suspect is still at-large and is described as a 35 to a 40-year-old black male. He appears to be approximately 6’0 in height and 200 pounds with a thin build. He was wearing blue shorts and a black shirt, and he seems to have long hair.
