Final preparations are being made for George Floyd’s funeral this week. The family announced that a public viewing would be in Houston, Monday, June 8, and a private service will take place the following day at 11 am.

Many watched the viral video of Floyd’s death on Memorial Day in Minneapolis after Officer Derek Chauvin pressed his knee on the back of his neck while he was unarmed and handcuffed. Since then, Chauvin was arrested and charged with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.

According to news sources, additional memorials will occur at 1 pm local time Thursday in Minneapolis and North Carolina on Saturday at 1 pm ET. Among the many who will be attending the services, former Vice President Joe Biden is also expected to attend the funeral next week.

No additional details about the services have been released.
