May 29, 2020 - 8:51 am
Dr. Cedrick Alexander, who served as the DeKalb County (GA) Police Chief and Public Safety Director went on record with Rashad Richey about the recent killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the hands of local cops.

Dr. Alexander, who is the past president of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives and a CNN contributor said what he saw on the recording was "murder".

Four Minneapolis police officers have been fired in connection to the incident. No charges have been filed, but there are ongoing investigations.

Former officer Derek Chauvin  is seen in the footage with his knee on the neck of George Floyd, while Mr. Floyd gasps for air saying, "I can't breathe". Recent developments have revealed Chauvin's long history of complaints of police misconduct.

Dr. Alexander further stated, “... what we saw was criminal behavior, it’s nothing, but down right criminal behavior.”

Dr. Alexander hopes these investigations are not long and drawn out, but rather timely and fair because the Black Community is tired of these injustices.
