After the federal government announced the indictment of outspoken Atlanta City Councilman Antonio Brown, many community members called The Rashad Richey Morning Show to express their support for Brown.

The councilman was charged with fraud connected to an application about income stemming back as early as 2012, when Brown was in his 20s.

Community Organizer from the Black Futurists Group, and other members of the community said the charges seemed extreme and pointed to Brown's political stance on police reform and other hot button issues as the true genesis of the complaint.

Brown's attorney, Thomas Bever, who is a former federal prosecutor, said Brown will enter a plea of "absolutely not guilty".
