DeKalb County Commissioners are going to start seeing a larger chunk of money in their pockets.

The board voted this week to give themselves a pay raise that will nearly double what they already made.  Each commissioner will get paid more than 73-thousand dollars a year, up from around 40-thousand dollars. The measure was voted on without discussion, although the county had legal notices posted concerning the item throughout the month.

The DeKalb County House Delegation is also in the process of vetting a bill that would boost the pay of commissioners and CEO Mike Thurmond.
