The Center for Disease Control and Prevention researcher – who has now been missing for a month – recently received a promotion, that according to the agency Monday.

The CDC says original reports of Timothy Cunningham not receiving a promotion are incorrect. During a Feb. 27 press conference, Atlanta police stated Cunningham was upset he did not get a promotion he wanted. In an emailed statement, the CDC says Cunningham received an early promotion to commander in July.

The 35-year-old was last seen Feb 12th  when he left the CDC in Chamblee where he works as an epidemiologist after complaining to colleagues he was not feeling well.

“If Tim reads this message, we hope you come home soon. If anyone reading this has information about the whereabouts of Commander Cunningham, please come forward,” stated the CDC

If anyone has information please contact the Atlanta Police Department at 404-546-4235.
