"Brunch Bill" awaits Gov. Deal's approval

Senate Bill 17, otherwise known as the "Brunch Bill" is headed to Governor Nathan Deal's desk for approval.

If signed, the leglislation will allow alcohol sales at restaurants and retail stores on Sundays to begin at 11am rather than 12:30PM.

The House voted 97-64 to approve the bill which was orignally introduced by (R) Senator Renee Unterman of Buford. Unterman alluded to the bill as her "Mimosa Mandate"

Earlier in the session, the Senate Regulated Industries and Utilities Committee voted 6 to 4 in favor of the bill.
